Slack is the escalation integration. When someone asks to speak to a person, or something happens that your team needs to know about right now, your agent posts the alert to the right channel while the conversation is still live. It is how you avoid finding out the next day that an important customer left angry.

What you need first

  • A Slack workspace and permission to install apps in it. In many teams an administrator approves that.
  • The channel where the alerts should land, already created.
  • The Starter plan or higher in Ryvo, with the Engine module active.

How to connect it

1

Open Settings › Integrations

In the portal, go to Settings and then Integrations. Find the Slack card.
2

Click Connect app

Slack’s install screen opens in a new window. Meanwhile the card shows In progress.
3

Pick the workspace and authorize

Select the workspace where you want the alerts and accept the permissions.
4

Come back to Ryvo

You land back on the Integrations screen on your own and the card turns to Connected. Slack asks nothing else.
5

Invite the app to your channel

In Slack, open the channel where you want the alerts and type /invite followed by the app name. Without that step, the app can see the channel but cannot post to it.

What your agent can do once it is connected

Actions are turned on one by one from View actions and the Tools section of the builder, with a cap of 10 integration actions per agent.
Your agent does not read your team’s Slack. It only posts to the channels you invited it to, on purpose: reading internal conversations mid-call with a customer would expose information that is none of its business.
