# Connect Gmail

> Connect your Gmail so your agent can send the confirmation, the quote or the follow-up by email.

Connecting Gmail gives your agent the ability to **put something in writing**: the appointment confirmation, the quote it promised or the information the customer asked for during the call. It goes out from your own account, so the customer receives an email from your business and not from some unfamiliar address.

It can also leave the email in drafts when the message needs a person to review it first.

## What you need first

* A **Google** account (personal or Google Workspace) that the emails should come from.
* The **Starter** plan or higher in Ryvo, with the Engine module active.
* On restricted Google Workspace domains, an administrator may have to allow the app before the authorization can complete.

## How to connect it

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Settings › Integrations">
    In the portal, go to **Settings** and then **Integrations**. Find the **Gmail** card.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Connect app">
    Google's authorization screen opens in a new window. Meanwhile the card shows **In progress**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the account and accept the permissions">
    Select the account the emails should come from and accept.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Come back to Ryvo">
    You land back on the Integrations screen on your own and the card turns to **Connected**. Gmail asks nothing else.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What your agent can do once it is connected

| Action | What it does in the conversation |
| ----------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Send email** | Sends an email from the connected account: the confirmation, the quote or whatever it promised. |
| **Save draft** | Leaves the email ready but unsent, for a person to review. Use it when the message needs sign-off. |
| **Search emails** | Looks up the person's earlier emails, to pick up a thread or confirm what was sent before. |

Actions are turned on one by one from **View actions** and the [**Tools**](/guides/agents/tools) section of the builder, with a cap of **10 integration actions per agent**.

<Note>
  If you would rather no email ever goes out without human review, turn on **Save draft** only and leave **Send email** off.
</Note>

## What to do if something fails
